Sponsor a Child's Wish... $1,000 - $7,500

You can give a child the priceless gifts of love, laughter and treasured memories by sponsoring all or part of a wish. Your donation will have an immediate, uplifting impact on the life of a child with a life-threatening medical conditions. We are happy to share the wish stories with your employees, clients or business associates.

  • Corporate Wish Sponsors underwrite the cost of an entire wish by contributing $7,500 (average cost of a wish). Wish Sponsors may decide to fund a wish for a child based on a particular age, illness or type of wish (travel, computer, shopping spree, etc.), if requested.

  • Corporate Wish Partners help sponsor a wish with a contribution of $3,500 or more. Their contribution works together with donations from other Wish Partners to help make a child's special wish come true.

  • Corporate Wish Friends help sponsor a wish with a contribution of $1,750 or more. Contributions are pooled with other Wish Friends to fulfill all the wishes granted in the month the contribution is received.

Sponsor a Make-A-Wish Event

Events provide high-visibility for corporate supporters and an opportunity to meet with former wish children and families who, as Wish Ambassadors for the organization, convey the power and magic of a wish fulfilled.

Events for the current and coming year include:

  • Women Wishmakers' Awards Night
  • Make-A-Wish Golf Outing
  • Make-A-Wish Holiday Auction
  • Annual Gala
  • Wine & Wishes
  • Stories of Light®

Organize Your Own Special Event

Join dozens of companies who organize special fundraising events for Make-A-Wish Foundation. Events vary widely in size, scope and theme. Some of these events have become signature events not only within the company, but also within their industry. Events build team spirit among employees while helping support the Make-A-Wish mission. Our staff will be happy to assist you; and Wish Ambassadors (former wish children and their families) or a Speakers Bureau Volunteer will be available to help kick off your planning meetings and the event itself.

Some of our Corporate Sponsors and their Make-A-Wish events include:

  • Americana Mortgage Golf Outing
  • Avis Rent-A-Car Holiday Raffle
  • Corenet
  • Digitas Mustaches for Wishes
  • Kinray Joseph Rahr Memorial Golf Invitational
  • Macy*s East Percy the Poor Little Penguin Puppet Theater

Enlist as a Corporate Wishmaker

Working in partnership with our Program Services Department, your employees can be part of creating the magic of a wish. For each one of our wishes, we create some magical enhancements, often provided through Corporate Wishmakers who create a "Wish Sack".

It might be a knapsack filled with sand toys, towel, sunglasses and disposable camera for a child heading off to Disney World, while it might be the perfect software for a computer wish. We give you the description of the wish and the age of the child - employees can use their imagination and have fun with this project!

Include Make-A-Wish Foundation in Your Workplace-Giving Campaigns

Make-A-Wish Foundation is included as an option in many workplace-giving campaigns. Its name and reputation make it one of the most frequently designated charities by employees. Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York can help you design a simple plan that encourages employee participation. Some companies also provide a matching gift option.

Give Wings to a Child Through Our Airline Programs

Most wishes involve travel - to Disney World, to a reunion with grandparents in a faraway city, or some other dreamed-about destination. Donate airline vouchers or transfer your frequent flyer mileage to Make-A-Wish Foundation and you'll help defray the cost of the more than 2,000 airline tickets we need for wishes each year.

Airline Programs that will honor your request to donate frequent flyer miles include America West Airlines, American Airlines, British Airways, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways and United Airlines.

Make a Donation in Honor of Your Employees or Clients

You can honor your family, friends, employees and business associates with gifts made in their honor to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York. Many companies choose to make a gift to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in lieu of holiday gifts. We are happy to notify your contacts that a donation has been made in their honor. Corporate holiday cards are also available, as are cards for other special occasions.

Start an Employee Volunteer Initiative

Companies that provide volunteer opportunities for employees are growing in number and Make-A-Wish Foundation has a number of important corporate volunteer partnerships that create a win-win situation for our Foundation and the company. In some cases, companies use the partnership with Make-A-Wish Foundation to leverage other funding interests (e.g. American Express supports Big Apple Greeters, an organization that partners with Make-A-Wish Foundation to welcome wish children from around the world whose wishes take place in New York - and provides a grant to Make-A-Wish Foundation that allows their employees to be trained as Big Apple Greeters to serve Make-A-Wish kids).

Other companies host "lunch and learn" sessions for their employees. We are happy to provide a speaker for a corporate function, or create a special volunteer training program on-site, or invite your employees to be a part of regularly scheduled Make-A-Wish volunteer orientation meetings throughout Metro New York.

Join Our Inner Circle Partners and Fulfill our "Wish List"

The Foundation's day-to-day expenses - from the rent and telephone, meeting facilities and hosting cultivation events, to printing and postage - are all part of making a child's dream come true. As a member of the Foundation's Inner Circle, you can help defray part of our administrative expenses, with a cash or in-kind donation (printing our monthly volunteer newsletter, for example) so that more of our resources can go directly to granting wishes.
