Meet our Million Dollar Donors, whose long-standing support has helped grant countless wishes!

• Stewart Rahr and the Kinray Family – During our annual Gala “When You Wish Upon A Star” in June of 2007, Stewart Rahr, President and CEO of Kinray Inc. and member of the Advisory Board of Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York, made the surprise announcement that he would launch the 25th anniversary campaign of the Metro New York Chapter with an individual donation of $1 million - the first seven-figure individual donation in the history of the Metro New York chapter!

• Long Beach Polar Bears – Since inception in 2001, the annual Long Beach Polar Bear Super Bowl Splash has developed into a huge, community-supported effort that draws thousands of people to jump into the ocean to raise money for our cause. In 2008, we were joined by the founding members of the Long Beach Polar Bears in unveiling our chapter’s $1 million donor wall, which is dedicated to the loving memory of young Paulie Bradley. Paulie’s passing, at the age of four in 1997 before his wish could be granted, inspired the legendary Long Beach Polar Bears Super Bowl Splash, which has surpassed the $1million fundraising mark in 2008.

• Macy’s – The successful partnership with Macy’s started in New York more than 10 years ago and has blossomed into one of the most successful corporate partnerships for the Foundation nationwide. Through creative fundraising programs such as Thanks for Sharing or 2009’s Believe campaign, the Metro New York chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation has received more than $1million to make wishes come true.
