Retirement Assets

By naming the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Metro New York as the beneficiary of your tax-deferred retirement account, you can avoid the estate and income taxes that would result if left to heirs other than your spouse.joshua.jpg

In addition, the new IRA Charitable Rollover legislation may benefit you.  Taxpayers age 70½ and above are required to make annual distributions from their IRA’s.  For a limited time, you are allowed to make total contributions of up to $100,000 a year directly to a qualifying charity such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York from your IRA without paying income tax on your withdrawal.  Contributions must be made by December 31, 2009 to be eligible for the tax benefit.
