Like so many little girls, 5-year-old Faith
loves Disney princesses, so it was no surprise to her parents and to Make-A-Wish®
volunteers when she told them that what she wished for most was to go to Walt Disney World®
Resort to see the princesses. She especially wanted to meet her favorite princess, Snow White.
Her wish trip came at the perfect time. Faith had finished her last round of cancer treatment a few months earlier and her father Jason tells us that for the whole family “the trip was the light at the end of the tunnel.” Mom Michele adds “it was a much-needed vacation from what we were going through. It was nice for Faith to be treated so special.”
Faith and her parents stayed at the Contemporary Hotel and enjoyed visiting all the theme parks, especially the Magic Kingdom, where they spent two days. Michelle tells us that they were treated so well at all of the theme parks that Faith really felt like a princess. Michelle recalls that they felt almost guilty for not having to wait in long lines. At the same time she realized how much Faith deserved this special treatment for being so brave for so long. Faith truly felt like a princess at the Bippity Boppity Boutique, where she was made over to become Snow White for a day. “Although she didn’t have a lot of hair at the time, the staff got the tiara in her hair and didn’t make her feel as if she were different because she had less hair,” Michelle tell us. “It really is a magical place. We had such a good time, and forgot about everything else.”
A truly magical moment came when Faith met Snow White. Her parents did not tell her in advance that she was going to meet her favorite princess and to spend one-on-one time with her. “When Snow White came up to Faith, she was amazed,” Michele says. Snow White spent about 20 minutes with the little girl, talking and taking many pictures together. Faith also had a great time at Give Kids the World, where she thoroughly enjoyed herself playing in the sprinkler park, making fairy pillows, and riding the carousel.
Faith had a great time on her wish trip, and Michele and Jason tell us that they appreciate all that was done to make their little daughter’s wish come true. They also thank Make-A-Wish for giving the family this special time together.
