Sydney wished to go to Walt Disney World® Resort

For a 9-year-old girl with a bubbly, adventurous, and fun-loving spirit, a wish to go to Walt Disney World® Resort and Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida was perfect. Sydney adores music and live musical shows – like the Barney Live show she saw at Radio City Music Hall. She also loves amusement parks where lights, sounds, and thrilling rides stimulate her senses and make the world exciting.

Sydney adored the glistening and illuminated parades along the parks’ magical streets. She shared breakfast with famous characters, and met Minnie and Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. Her younger brother joined Sydney on all the rides and they loved the spectacular performance of lights, smoke, and special effects at Cinderella’s castle. But, nothing at all could top the hug that Sydney got from Barney the purple dinosaur when she met him backstage after a performance. Her mom said, “I can’t tell you how wonderful it was to be a part of that with her and to see her reaction to meeting him.” In fact, it was so good that she went back to see the same show the next day!

“We were never really able to travel as a family before because of Sydney’s medical condition,” said her mom. “But now that the Make-A-Wish Foundation® made all this possible, we’ve found the confidence and courage to make it happen and enrich our lives. We’re so grateful for everything. It was all so special and meaningful.”
