Data Analyst Intern

Location: Manhattan
Reports to: Manager, IT & Database Administration
Type of Position: Intern
Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Position Overview

The Data Analyst Intern will work closely with the IT & Database Administration Manager on planning and designing our Data Quality Metrics.

Essential Job Functions

  • Build queries to analyze existing data and generate insight
  • Architect, implement, and deploy new database SOU’s and SOP’s
  • Recommend data points for our Data Quality Metrics
  • Support various database processes, including imports and exporting

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in an Information Systems, Computer Science, or related accredited college program
  • Must be enrolled in or completed one or more computer programming classes
  • Knowledge of database systems or can quickly learn and adapt. Blackbaud product experience is a plus
  • Must love Microsoft Excel, BI knowledge a plus
  • Curious, self-driven, analytical, and excited to learn and play with data

  • Gain a deep understanding of what the non-profit sector is all about
  • Be able to reflect both critically and constructively on your work as an intern for Make-A-Wish
  • Provide a short end-of-term presentation for staff members and other interns on your experience and what you learned during your internship
  • Must satisfy a minimum requirement of 100 hours
  • Create compelling fact-based presentation in conclusion of internship

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time and work on a computer for extended periods
