Kids with critical illnesses often miss a lot of school, so summer is the busiest time for wish trips. These kids have been working hard all year, staying strong, overcoming obstacles and fighting to keep up with their studies. And during that time, they’ve been dreaming about the day they’d set out on their adventure of a lifetime.
These much anticipated and well-deserved wish trips had kids from our chapter zipping all over the globe. Here is just a sample of some of the destinations our wish kids visited this summer.
It all starts with a simple statement. I wish to go (to):
Walt Disney World® Resort | Jamaica | camping at Jellystone | on a cruise to the Bahamas | on a cruise to Bermuda | on a Disney Cruise Line® ship and meet the characters I see on TV | on a cruise in the Greek Islands | on Mediterranean cruise | Puerto Rico | Aruba | Athens & Santorini, Greece | Atlantis | Aulani Resort (Hawaii) | Australia | Barbados | Beaches Resort in Turks and Caicos | Comic Con in San Diego | Dominican Republic to visit relatives | Dubai | Egypt | England and the Netherlands by train | Greece | Guinea and see my family | Hawaii | Hersey Park | Japan | LEGOLAND® | London | Los Angeles | Maui | Nintendo Headquarters to develop game | a cruise to Norway and Sweden | NYC to visit Fire Depts & 9-11 Memorial | Paris | Rome | San Diego | Santo Domingo | Senegal | Sesame Place and Meet Cookie Monster | Switzerland | Taishan, Guangdong, China to see my family | the Catskills and stay in a bungalow colony | Dominican Republic | the Golden Gate Bridge | Universal Studios and Volcano Bay | Washington D.C. | Woburn Forest in England
None of the life-changing experiences our wish kids had this summer would have been possible without the generosity and support of our donors, volunteers and medical professionals. Our deepest thanks to all who made this incredible summer of wishes possible!
