That's what 3-year-old Carsyn excitedly told everyone in the weeks leading up to his Make-A-Wish® trip. He couldn't wait for his Disney Cruise Line® wish to come true! Carsyn chose a cruise for his wish because he wanted an experience that his two sisters could enjoy alongside him – that, and he wanted to meet all his favorite Disney characters, of course. Carsyn's cruise came at the perfect time – he had just finished his treatment for neoplasms, and was ready for a joyful week on the open seas with his family.
As soon as Carsyn boarded his Disney Cruise Lines® ship, it was “go” time! There was so much for the family to see and do; Carsyn went swimming in the Mickey Mouse pool every day with his sisters, and saw shows in the ship's big theater. He loved Nemo's Reef, a water park complete with water slides and sprinklers to run through, and his special meet-and-greet with Mickey Mouse - Carsyn claims this was his favorite part of the trip! He filled his autograph book with every Disney character's signature, and took some great pictures with his new friends.
Carsyn's mom, Bernadette, was surprised how much Carsyn opened up while on his wish trip – he wasn't shy at all! The trip “was like paradise,” she says. One day, the family even went to a pirate party, where Carsyn donned his pirate best, complete with toy sword – the young buccaneer got so into character that he jokingly attacked his sisters in their bunk beds! The whole family was overjoyed to see Carsyn so full of joy, playing around without a care in the world.
Now that he's back at home, Carsyn still thinks – and talks – about his wish often. He loves to share how he rode in “a big car, a big plane, and a big boat,” and was the center of attention the whole trip. Bernadette says the wish experience boosted his confidence and helped him open up – he's “back in the game!” She also declares that the wish helped him put everything he's been through in perspective. “He's like a normal boy now, very active.” With this renewed energy, Carsyn's looking forward to his future, and is even saving up his change to ensure that future is filled with many more boat trips!
