Lounging in a limo headed for the airport, 7-year-old Julianna began her wish in style. With faith in the experience, trust in Make-A-Wish, and, of course, a little bit of pixie dust, Julianna, her mom Lori, and dad Brian, took flight to the little girl’s dream destination: Walt Disney World® Resort.
Julianna’s wish trip was packed with fun visits to Magic Kingdom® and other Disney Theme Parks, and memorable meet-ups with Disney characters.
For Lori, there was no better feeling than when she saw her daughter smiling throughout her trip. “Julianna does not smile that often,” explains Lori between loving laughs. “I was so happy to get so many pictures of her smiling in Walt Disney World® [Resort].” Lori’s heart filled with joy as she witnessed and captured her daughter’s genuine reactions to the rides and to meeting Disney characters. She says that one of her daughter’s most cherished moments was meeting Mickey Mouse.
Julianna’s wish-come-true resulted in more than pure happiness and beautiful smiles. Lori tells us that upon returning home “Julianna started coming out of her shell.” Each night, Julianna would ask to bring a new picture from her wish trip to school the next morning to show her classmates. Along with proudly sharing her precious memories, Julianna also began sharing her even more precious spirit. Lori reflects on her daughter’s wish experience, revealing one simple yet powerful sentiment of “gratitude.” Julianna and her family put together a scrapbook, to help the little girl look back on the happy memories and relive the wonderful experience whenever she wants to.
