Performing is in 9-year-old Jordan’s DNA. He was always putting on shows for his family. So when Make-A-Wish® asked Jordan what he wished for, it’s no surprise that he requested a stage be built in his basement.
When asked why he chose this wish, Jordan had three answers: “Because I like acting and singing. I do my own plays. And I share it with friends and family.”
When Jordan’s wish was complete, he had his very own theater, adorned with red velvet curtains and colored lights. Finishing touches include rows of seats to house his audience, as well as his favorite part - the karaoke machine. Future plans for the space include adding a popcorn machine so his guests can enjoy a snack during shows.
For Jordan, having the stage built has quite simply meant “happiness.” When asked what it would be like not to have the stage, he replied with widening eyes, “it would be really sad.” He describes having his with granted as a dream come true. “When I was little, I used to do shows there,” he says. “I always thought it would be so cool to have a stage … and lights. And then when it happened, it was just so crazy!”
The stage has brought joy to Jordan’s whole family. According to Shadi, Jordan’s mother, the stage has added a source of bonding for the family, bringing them together for the shows that Jordan puts on, often with his brother and sister, Jake and Mia.
